Klort, This article has been on the internet for sometime. I am well aware of Dieter's feelings on Music downloading. I agree with him in the fact that the industry is changing and will have to adapt to its environment. But I also agree with the interviewer who states: "The internet is a great way to get yourself known. Its just that it's not structured in such a way that you can earn any money." Because of the internet it is getting increasingly difficult for artists to make money. Every free download that that the artist is not paid for hurts the artist. Have you heard this news recently? The Music Industry wants to get paid for downloads of films and TV shows, and 30-second song samples. Artists are struggling to make money. The main reason is the internet. This is a hard time for artists and the fans should be behind them, helping them by making sure they get paid. The last thing we should be doing is posting their music online for everyone to download for free. But lets get back on YELLO. This is a big week for them. The whole music industry dilemma can be argued forever. If you wish to continue trying to "start something" all you will get from me is one of these. :)
"The internet is a great way to get yourself known. Its just that it's not structured in such a way that you can earn any money."
LOL!!! Say this to the owners of google, amazon, and some other million people who made their fortune on the Internet. Back on topic: I'm a little disappointed with Takla Makan. From the 30-second previews I expected it to be more dynamic, like Poom Shanka. But these 8+ minutes are a little boring. And I agree with others who say that Heidi Happy isn't the best choice. A stronger voice would make the songs more magical. Serge
"Artists are struggling to make money. The main reason is the internet. " That's so true! But we can(artists/composers/songwriters) can't ignore the internet. So I make no longer cd's anymore to make money,( just for my own creativety) I make tv leader/radiojingles/ internet, and I try to make music for games now. I have to survive, making music is the only thing I can do. Ontopic: I had the same feeling about Takla Makan. 2009/9/29 Serge <s-v-p@gmx.net>

I tend to think it's more to do with the labels screwing up the industry by putting out constant banel sh!te just to rake in the pennies and screwing over the artisits with the profits, but that's just my opinion. Roll on the new album release! Ta, Sean
Yeah, no kidding. I was going to suggest that I'd like to see Yello do a special album of longer songs, perhaps mostly instrumentals? "The internet is a great way to get yourself known. Its just that it's not structured in such a way that you can earn any money." It's hilarious that you seem to actually believe that. Totally ridiculous.
Because of the internet it is getting increasingly difficult for artists to make money. Every free download that that the artist is not paid for hurts the artist. Because of the music industry being rotten to the core, run by a bunch of crooks, and essentially being the mob. Conjure a clue, Copperfield. As Glen pointed out, it is *established* to not be as you claim.
Have you heard this news recently? The Music Industry wants to get paid for downloads of films and TV shows, and 30-second song samples. == greed & a lack of adaptive thinking. Not because of T3h Eevil Internets.
Artists are struggling to make money. The main reason is the internet EVERYONE is struggling to make money. The main reason is the economy.
If you wish to continue trying to "start something" all you will get from me is one of these. :) Nobody 'over here' is trying to start anything - you took care of that with your dreams-and-feelings-as-facts "arguments", attacks on Serge & Glen, and attempts to retain the illusion of being king of Yello. It's already over - you just haven't the sense to realise it yet.
See, we can all scroll back into the Scarily Eeeevil Permanent Record of the list and see you gloating about having a copy of this promo, which, by the way, of which YOU ALSO MADE AN "ILLEGAL COPY". You got pissed once someone else did, strictly speaking, the same thing - whole copy vs. partial copy won't make a difference in court, sugar.
