Replay from DVD seller (responce in BOLD)
I do not know how this will appear in the newsgroup, but this is the letter I got back from the seller and my comments in bold as well as new paragraphs. If you wish to join the fight? The sellers email address is _sonofchilly@yahoo.com_ (mailto:sonofchilly@yahoo.com) If you want a refund, that's cool. Returning the dvd would be choice. How did you pay? A rough date of payment? Check your paypal account as to when I sent the payment: That is how you can look as easily as I can. You have to be serious? It was less than a week ago. I understand your perspective but it is far from my reality. Which is pretty tainted? I would and have never offered any title that was available otherwise. For instance, the Yello dvd has ONLY been made available for Europe/region 2. So sell the region 2 disc in this country, they will play on most of the above average machines and most all computers. So, there is NO other way for a person in the US to view this footage unless I do what I did, which int cheap to set up. So you are trying to recoup you losses but making illegal copies for distribution throughout out the world? Who the fuck can give you the rights to that? Certainly not their label, nor Boris or Dieter. I have even had people from Europe want me to send this item to them and I refuse and find links for them to buy it. How nice of you since exporting it is also illegal and can find it easier in their countries. And you dot have a clue how much money I have personally spent on music in my life or how much music I have sold through my 2 record stores or on-line sales. How does that make any difference? Your in retail as I am, and your purchases whether for your own personal pleasure or for inventory are a business expense. So I am supposed to feel bad that you have spent thousands of dollars on music? I have a huge collection as well all legitimate. The ONLY thing we have in common is we are passionate about all types of music. So, your I'm a musician thing really doesnt get anywhere with me. I am sure I have contributed more to musicians in my life than you have so who are you to judge me?? Contributed to them how? By taking money out of their pockets, or turning people on to new and interesting artists? IF it is the ladder I commend your support. If the former: Fuck you for making money that should ultimately go to the artists. We both know they barely make shit, but the reality, they get what they can and you pocketing it is not fair by any stretch. I have bought just about every Yello release and some even in multiple formats. Again, woopee, I have as well been a fan for years, what does your statement support? And you dont have a clue how much Yello has influenced my life. I hope more than just Yello has influenced your life? So maybe some wisdom before judgement will actually contribute something of value to your existence. It is not illegal since it has not been liscensed for this country. Heard of fair use? More than a tad familiar, since I have been in the music industry all of my life and currently tour and manage roughly 5 bands. Warner Brothers doesnt own everything including the rights to your soul, yet. Are you sure you do not mean Universal?

I do not know how this will appear in the newsgroup, but this is the letter Badly, since I for one am tired of hearing the tawdry details of your retardation. If you wish to continue to engage in battle with the windmills, for Smurf's sake, keep us out of it. It's not like this is news to any of us.
Your crying carries the same weight as one who dashes straight off the end of a dock and then instantly bitches about getting wet. Enough already with your pathetic little tale of woe and distress. Nincompoop. --gcr

Maybe organism should be a little more careful in his choice of words. Of course, it's easy to be more insulting in the net, and therefore extra care should be used in avoiding insulting expressions. Of the DVD subject, I would say it's okay to sell such DVDs to friends for the price of the production costs, but selling them for profit to a large population is a crime. Ebay will be in trouble if they continue allowing this. The released material can always be bought legally, even if the price is high. Buying used material also gives money to the artists because it increases demand for the goods they produce. -- Jussi Salmi http://staff.cs.utu.fi/~jussalmi/
This works only when those that need the fix get it the old fashioned way, through the stores.
