Now, I am not truly suggesting that Madonna and Boris have collaborated [however amusing a concept that may be... and she /has/ worked with William Orbit...]... but I am right now taking an earpeek at her new release "Confessions from a Dancefloor"; the last track "Like It Or Not" sounds very Night Flanger-esque. I am not a fan of "The Maverick"; but Ray of Light was nice [insofar as it was just her royal voiceness fronting atop the aforementioned Señor Orbit]; That said, listening to this album did not totally hurt. Barely on topic, --gcr

While we're talking about bizarre collaborations, I remember some time ago seeing in a discography a possible cover by Yello of "Nutbush City Limits" (Ike and Tina Turner wrote this). I searched Lazlo's discography (http://www.swcp.com/lazlo-bin/discogs?yello) - it states this is "VERY unconfirmed". Does anyone know anything about this, or does anyone know if this is actually nothing to do with Yello? That would be interesting to here. However I cant say I've ever seen a referance to yello covering anything. Someone more wizer than me will no dout correct me if I'm wrong. shaun -----Original Message----- From: yello-bounces+yg=tvsched.com@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:yello-bounces+yg=tvsched.com@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Mark Pulley Sent: Wednesday, 23 November 2005 5:23 PM To: The moon: beautiful. Do you perchance still have reference to the discography to which you refer? That'd be very curious. Any recollection at all where you saw this discog, or for whom it was compiled? Personally, I'd be interested to hear what came of a collab between the Yella fellas and Sarah Brightman. Yello has with many tracks created a sound that I describe as being cathedral, and Sarah's voice could lend a very nice atmosphere. Distantly, I am reminded of her by Stina's clear, solid fragility in To the Sea. And if Desperately Sought Susan can wangle William into welding his and hers together, then the cosmos must have space for a more holy union, no? And while I'm at it... Oliver Lieb will join forces [legato?] with Jam and Spoon [Barely On Topic: both of whom have had hands on Yello], and Pete Namlook will fall in with William Orbit. Has anyone else here enjoyed his Pieces in a Modern Style? The album proper is priceless. May as well finish off wishfest 2005 with a pine for more Things That Go Thump In My Brain; in the vein of Tool in Rose, Homage to the Mountain, Sweet Thunder, and so on. That's actually where Herren "Superthump" Blank and "Aliens In My Subwoofer" Namlook could come together quite nicely. Okay, I'm done. *sigh* --gcr
I hope that any collab between Yello and Sarah Brightman does not come out like "To the Sea." The song was alright at first, but eventually I found the singing to be very "precious" (as in the girl is precious), and that turned me WAY off.

Hear here. TTS is nice, but it comes off as lightweight. I imagine that we needn't worry - I doubt that these desires will be brought to fruition - for me it's all just a blacklight fantasy. --gcr
