I have found that I am consistently drawn towards the weird stuff. The versions I can remember are the ones that have taken the samples and smashed the whole idea to bits and used the crumbs to create a completely different loaf of bread. I also find that I can't force myself to finishing listening to versions that fall within my predetermined prejudices: 1. Casio sounds, 2. Trance (instant dismissal, sorry) 3. anything that for me sounds like "happy house crap". I can't define that, other than I think if the Village People were still together they would be playing it. I like the dark stuff too, a lot... I was a goth girl back when before they called it that.
