Any news about the mailing-list-membership-only ftp ganood? Seems such a good idea, and discussion has gone and gotten itself lost....
You read my mind. It didn't look like a lot of people are/were interested, so I didn't push the issue. I've been busy as hell anyways. :[ I'm still waiting for other suggestions from you all. The basic parts of the server are ready, I just have to work on how to set-up user accounts. Using just one blanket account wont work very well from a security stand point. So the question remains: How do you want to arrange your account setup? I thought about a secure web form, but that is too much of a pain in the arse. :[ E-mailing would probably be best. I'll have to set up a specific account just for you to send your account info to me. My anti-spam filters on this account really are brutal, especially on common spammer domains (yahoo, aol, and overseas (to me) domains like .ru). If you all like the e-mail idea, please post up here so I know you are interested. I'll then create a special e-mail account and post up the info. ----- Original Message ----- From: <organism@hydrophilus.com> To: <yello@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Wednesday, October 02, 2002 9:48 PM Subject: [Yello] ftp fantasy

I'm not very familiar with the email system that you talked about, but since you though that was the best (and you know more about this than me), I think we should have this email system. How does the email system work? Chris
Sounds good with the e-mail account. How does that work? Cheers Eric --- "J.R." <jr_bloodsworth@usa.net> skrev: > You read my mind. It didn't look like a lot of

I will post here all the details when the server is ready and the e-mail account is created. I still have to arrange the file structures on the server, setup the security (firewall, IDS, etc.), and write the instructions and rules for it. I hope to have this done over the coming weekend. :) Stay tuned... :) ----- Original Message ----- From: "X X" <x_63@yahoo.se> To: <yello@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Wednesday, October 16, 2002 3:06 AM Subject: Re: [Yello] ftp fantasy
