Thanks Greg and Julz, I knew it would please the Yello Minded :-) The font is: Helvetica Neue Heavy (Exactly the same). Yello used the Zurich Font in the past. (Bold or Bold Italic). (funny detail: Zurich and Helvetica have both something to do with Switzerland... how surprising.. :-) Rene
I didn't know Helvetica was created by a Swiss person. Yeah Helvetica Nue, BetaSans and Eurostyle are my favorite fonts Is Zurich the font that they have been using for years? Or just in the latest work? Just received the new LFO - Sheath... It's pretty good but a little noisy. There is a strange video you can see here: http://www.warprecords.com/?mart=WARP110 for the new single Freak. For those who don't know LFO is basically Mark Bell who's been around the music scene for quite a while and is known mostly for producing all the music for Bjork. So it can get sonically interesting but is more on the techno side. On Tuesday, October 7, 2003, at 03:38 PM, Rene wrote:

[ From: Julian <julzmon@mac.com> [ I didn't know Helvetica was created by a Swiss person. I'm not sure it was created by a Swiss person, but the name itself is Swiss. Swiss coins say Confederatio Helvetica, and the 'h' in the .ch domain for Switzerland refers to Helvetica. When I was in Switzerland, I asked what was written on the coins. I don't remember the full answer, but Switzerland is basically a loose confederation of independent states. I don't think I ever figured out what Helvetica means, though. Ever since then, I cannot help but think of Switzerland when choosing a font! Brian
Yeah, That's it. I remember being subjected to info on this by a teacher when I was still young. There was a breed of people who called themselves Helvatians. Or something like that. I have to translate from Dutch. They came from the South East of Germany. And for some reason that name got stuck to Switserland when several area's combined into Switserland. I just found it interesting that Yello's hidden feature is the use of Swiss related forntfaces for their hardcopy visuals. First several variants of the Zurich (motion Picture is Zurich Heavy with a narrow spacing), and now with the eye, the've switched to Helvetica, - Sometimes live is cool...
