Most of those solos are by Beat Ash. The ones that are the latest ones are not credited so I don't know if they would be older samples he has of beat ash or something he sampled somewhere else. From what we know about Boris though the would be something he created.
I remember reading an interview with Boris back in 1991 talking about the then-new album 'Baby'. He said that when he 'played' the drums for 'On The Run' on his keyboard, Dieter found it quite amusing. Most of the 'drums' in 'On The Run' were samples of other sounds (car doors slamming, basketballs being hit, etc) and not real drums. Sounds and there origin, I've been creating music for some years now. Most if it too poor for other ears than my own. But, most of you have heard the Bathtub Swing, the yello like track. This piece originates from an area in time where I used my sampler to the max. In a way I was creating my own sounds (using my voice) and other items. And a load of Yello samples of coarse which I altered and filtered, or not. Listening back too my tracks once in a while, it are the tracks that feature my own sounds that come out as the best, or more satisfying. And thus so different from the tracks where I used presets from synths and such. For instance: In the bathtub song I use finger snaps. These finger snaps are my own. I recorded over six sets and mixed them in random order. This gave a real lively effect to the track. On top of that there are breaths over the brushes and -oohs- as an extra layer of the Contra bass. And there's the sound of a cigaret being pulled out of tis box that turns up as a brush-slide. And yes... Yello (Boris) taught me that!! :-) Rene - who's been sandpapering a steel bar all afternoon, and is about to pollish it, oh drag. On Monday, July 7, 2003, at 03:37 PM, Sean Murphy wrote:
