Well as for my remix the EWA does Dada -doodle beta 4... All sounds are generated by the soft synths that are alive in my Cubase. There are some older samples that I made from my Hardware synths years ago. All the sounds in my doodle are layers on top of layers. I refuse to use loops. The only true Yello samples in this remix are certain sounds that have to be used to make it a.... yes... Planet Dada remix. Certain destinctive Yello sound should be left untouched. They are sacret. :-) Boris, my god, made them. The bassline is a layer set of an old synth bass sample that originated from my old CS1x, with on top of that a bass sound from the Nanosynth, and mixed again with a pure sine, and let's not forget a heavily choresed bass from the V-station VST synth, tuned and modified by me to my liking. Percussion sounds are all tuned and treated to some extend until they gave me the feel I was looking for. Certain sounds originate however from the Akufen remix, with some little tuning. Again to keep the feel/link alive to the Dada tour. And yes I will admit that there is a sound here and there coming from a synth that is very close to a preset with a slight change here and there. All the vocals you hear are mine, with the help of a vocoder to keep my boozed and nicotined voice in tune and Dada-istic. - But how important is all this when I strongly believe that it's the thought and drive behind it that counts. People should not give up on making something and post it to the list, when limited by their gear or software. I sold a 'kidney' to have what I have... others like to keep their organs. - Rene ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sonicom" <sonicom@mac.com> To: <yello@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Tuesday, March 23, 2004 10:31 PM Subject: [Yello] State of the Art?
Okay...here is my question. Which parts of this 'remix' were composed and not just samples? Composing original material from scratch is one thing, while playing 'Loop DJ' is another. While I do not mean to
