Rene, Northen parts of The Netherlands. Unfortunatly 32 years of age, Chevrolet Beretta owner. I once saw a Derrick episode (1985) that featured Desire. In my school agenda (Dutch translation) I had a picture of Yello. later on vacation in Germany, while sitting in my parrents 1968 white Mercedes 220 with black hardtop, I heard Desire again, and imagined to be a detective, driving a white mercedes. In 1987 (I think) I listened to a Dutch Radio Station and heard dr. van Steiner and the Rhythm Devine. I taped it, and got hooked. next day I went to the library to rent the LP. I taped it and later on I bought One Second. Then came Solid pleasure and more. Again I went to germany on holidays and was playing One Second on my beautiful Silver 3000 mini getto blaster. Driving my parents insane in their dying white Mercedes. A little later I finally got my first keyboard/synth and learned to play some melodies of Yello. I bought an old Tandberg tapedeck and with my brand new Yello LP, Flag I made my first remix of Tied Up. (crappy but inventive). Yello seemed out of place. I couldn't fit it anywhere, couldn't put it in a box and lable it. It remained yello and everything else was the rest. Yello became one with my soul. After having everything on Vinyl (or so I believed) I bought the lot again on CD (the albums). I bought the CD Video's, every vinyl single I could find in the discount sections of more and more commercialize record stores. Friends went on the lookout for yello maxi's and brought them with them for me as a present. Just to see me smiling from ear to ear and forgetting about anything, and just looking at the cover and smelling it. I went to a record store where you could rent LP's. I found Live at the Roxy, rented it, and came back the next day, begging the guy behind the desk, to sell me the record. I got on my knees, and told him I wouldn't leave without the record. He gave in, and sold it to me, in spite of the fact that it was a very popular record in the rental circuit. I was happy. And next thing I know, I'm on this list and find that I'm not alone, and while searching the net for info on yello, I discover more and more of the world behind Yello, a world that has bits of string tied to more that I could ever imagine. I'm doomed, but with pleasure. Rene
