thanks for the pointer. i'm a winamp preson for what it's worth. even paid my green for winamp 5 pro. a very good little prog it is. Yes, i have used i-tunes, a while ago now though, i think it had something to do with lack of support for the media keys on my ms natural keyboard that put me back to winamp 2.x it was at that stage. since winamp 5 now has ripping capabilities and can structure the files how i want them i'm happy. i'm not after super high quality ripps, just nice enough to listen to on the pc. for what it's worth, after looking it as well, winamp 5 will rip acc and ogg as well. probably more with the right codec shaun -----Original Message----- From: yello-bounces+sajt=tvsched.com@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:yello-bounces+sajt=tvsched.com@mailman.xmission.com]On Behalf Of Rene Sent: Thursday, 20 May 2004 11:11 PM To: The moon: beautiful. Its AAC and yet another encoder technol. in the world to make your audio files smaller, while still sounding as it should. This one has nothing to do with how multichannel audio is processed in DVD streams. Head over to www.apple.com and go to the i-tunes tab to find out more on apple's contribution to lossless audio compression, if you are interested. I don't know the details, I just discovered that when using AAC in i-Tunes I wasn't missing as much of the sound as when using MP3 even in highest quality setting. But then again its all based on perception and dus deception of the brain. ----- Original Message ----- From: Shaun Turner To: The moon: beautiful. The sun: even more beautiful.
