Hi all Just thought I'd add I have to agree with what is (I think) the majority opinion here - I think Yello's new web site is awful. I've almost no experience of web site design myself, but I think I recognise fairly bad design..and this one sucks. Quite dissapointing really, especially after a 4 year wait. These are my main criticisms of the site: 1. The loading screen. Not everyone has broadband and not everyone wants to wait minutes for a front page to be loaded, - oh yes and with a very monotonous (literally) loading sound from 'Tremendous Pain'. 2. The music of 'Oh Yeah' also in the introduction from (when was it 1985?) - I thought we were in 2003.......It was great then, but don't Yello fans want to hear something new on a web site? 3. The images - especially the photos of Dieter and Boris on the introduction - these are also from circa 1985 aren't they? Why not use the updated images from the Press Office i.e. as per the motor music web site. 4. The albums - why are there tracklistings for just the 2 most recent albums? It smacks very much to me of Yello's marketers last ditch attempt to promote Motion Picture (again). 5. Shop - Hmm. Music pop stars - web site, but can't..seem...to..determine where I can *buy* a Yello album on the official site. Oh well.... 5. General accessability - If I want to see a Yello discography, then at the very least it should be on the Yello web site. It's ironic that every other Yello web site has one - except the official one. 6. Yello Bio - I think someone mentioned this before, but the site is seriously lacking background on Yello 'the personalities'. I'm sure there's a few of us who would be interested in the inspiration behind the music or what Dieter thought of Lightmaker, or some background on how Pocket Universe came to be a concept - ...but ur... no....perhaps this will be covered in the upcoming book.. 7. The Eye (design) - if the web design is anything to go by, and Johnathon's scan of the 'The Eye' promo on his site - I really hope that that is not the actual album desigh cover - it's awful. It looks as though it's been done in Microsoft paint or something.. 8. Credits screen - I like the way the same screen fades in and out every few seconds... So..to sum up I think Yello's marketing team have got it spectacularly wrong again. I think Greg's site..albeit just created, is far superior. It's a shame because the quality of Yello's marketing and promotion simply doesn't match up to the quality of the Yello sound, and I wonder if Boris and Dieter are aware or even care about the design of the site.. and the new album cover.. Ah well..... _________________________________________________________________ On the move? Get Hotmail on your mobile phone http://www.msn.co.uk/msnmobile
