Have you guys got access to the "yello story" that was on BBC2 in 1989? It was a half hour programme that interviewed Boris and Dieter and tracked the history of how they got into music and got togtether. I dont know if you produced a link in the past, but if not, I could create one for you to see it. Let me know.
-The excess of excess.

Season's Greetings All,
I am new to the list, but have
been a Yello fan since '83 when I first
heard of them and saw the video for 'I Love You' on the Canadian "New
Music" television show.
Regarding 'I Love You', I bought the 'You Gotta' Say Yes...' LP on
vinyl way back in '83 and it had the same AWESOME version of 'I Love
You' as was used in the video. When 'You Gotta' Say Yes...' came out on
CD, I was disappointed that the mix was not the one used on the vinyl
LP (and video).
Since then, I've always wanted to find that video/LP mix of I Love You
on CD - can anybody tell me if it has ever been on CD and what that CD
is? (A release from Yello, or a compilation, etc.)
If it's never been out on CD, does anybody know why? It is such a good
version!
Best,
John G

I agree, the cd version is, well, I like the LP version better. Perhaps one of those online music download stores? (avoiding any
controversial competitive lower case letters that come after the letter h)

Wow.........that is a hell of a lot of people to produce a movie I had no
idea was even released. I wonder what the payroll looked like? $500,000 for
Paris, $25 for everyone else? Sorry but I have utter disdain for that woman. How
the hell did Deiter and her hook up?
On another note, Shirley Bassey......I think I've found a new yello convert:
one of my best frends from highschool 20 years ago I sent some of her music
to him. He played trumpet/coronet and I played clarinet for many years in and
out of school. I sent him links to her Goldfinger videos and some from Yello
with her in them. I think
he mentioned that he may start playing again from
hearing them, and was intrigued by Yello's music. He thought they were some
one-knockoff group after Oh Yeah. I clued him in.........

I'm back... :-)
So what
happend here in 2 years?
I've got 2 kids now(third coming),And very busy job and......
What??!... Still no new Yello album? It's a shame.
No,.let's have some patience .They are a bit at age now these days.
So things are going a bit slower. They bought a nice Audi though,I notice.
You guys already find out the connection from Dieter Meier and Paris Hilton?
They made a movie together.Check:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0417056/fullcredits#castIt's not a movie to be proud on,but what the hell.
He did it with Paris.:)
Cheers from Amsterdam.

I agree with the posts, it has been waaaaay to long for a new Yello album.
With regards to Arno's post "They are a bit at age now these days", I agree
but I suppose Dieter and Boris are very much like a fine wine, they improve
with age, and I for one cannot wait to crack open the top of a new Yello album
and savour all the goodness from within.
I know this is an almost impossible task but what are everyones favourite
ten tracks by the boys?
Mine are:-
1.Who's gone?
(who's groove?)
2.How How
3.Sweet Thunder
4.Resistor
5.Si Senor the hairy grill
6.Distant Light
7.Bimbo
8.Get On
9.Squueze Please
10.The Evenings Young
Bloody hard to think of my "best" top ten but there you have it. Have fun
trying out your own guys.
All the best for Christmas everyone.
Graeme
Crap. Now I have to pull everything out and listen for a week to
decide......not like that's a bad thing :P
