If I heard correctly the music industry have announced to attack each music downloader from now on. )1) Threats, Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt. Implementation is / will be another thing. )2) This FUD and threats are aimed towards peer-to-peer networks. This is not that.
An alternative could be that the FTP site would be at "ftp.yello.ch". Yeah, you get that set up, and we'll roll our stuff right over. You just let us know once that server is available.
Of course, Yello could always set up a proper site for purchasing high quality mp3 files either individually, in punch, or in yearly subscription basis. Here's another copy of the pertinent part of the README.FIRST file found on the server, since you appear to have missed its earlier posting:
"Post only rare / difficult to find material. Do not post full albums that can be easily found." "The moment Yello release a compendium or best of that makes available something that was not previously readily accessible, matching files will be removed from this server."
In any case, it can be debated (in court, not here please)... Then you should not have brought it up here. You offer your misguided opinion and immediately wish to deny responses? That is very bad for you.
It is nowadays for Yello very easy to fix the situation: set up a commercial mp3 site. Again, you just let us all know when that's up and running!
What would be the postal address where to I should send my requests for purchase of rarities? I would ask for a pro forma (prepaid bill). We all should send written requests for pro forma as it would clearly proof that we have done all possible for getting legal copies of the products. After all you had to say, this is actually, in my mind, a very very good idea!
