Yeah!! It appears to be working, but I wonder about speed and fairplay on downloads/uploads. This is where knowledge ends in configuring the server. I have an ADSL connection. 64kbit upstream/256kbit downstream. I noticed (obvious) that with two simultanious downloads my upload speed drops to +/- 3kbyte per second. And I notice that user: 63.205. etc... is logged in 4 times. Probalby using Download accellerator or something like that. So in interest of more users at the same time, should I drop the number of simultanious connections per user? Guess so.. Further more I wonder if the IP stays the same after I reboot and log on to the net again. And I'll have to find a second machine that can be running 24/7. The bandwith might become a problem if too many users log on and start pulling files. Oh what a wonderfull world of bits and bytes... Rene ----- Original Message ----- From: J.R. I'm the one from IP 209.105.x.x, BTW. :) FYI: Another way to write the URL you posted can include the username and password in it. :) ftp://yello:rules@195.240.126.124 ----- Original Message ----- From: Rene To: yello@mailman.xmission.com Sent: Wednesday, May 28, 2003 6:40 PM Subject: [Yello] FTP Hi, Alright. I haven't got a clue how to get FTP servers running, but on the net I found a program that stated it could be done in seconds. Well... For testing purpose: ftp://195.240.126.124 username: yello password: rules - It seems users can drop files into the browser window and it'll upload... Interesting. So if anyone is in for a test go ahead. - Rene ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- _______________________________________________ Yello mailing list Yello@mailman.xmission.com http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/yello ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ Yello mailing list Yello@mailman.xmission.com http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/yello
