I like her too.  I find it refreshing to have such a different (minimally altered, nonelectronic) sound.  Lots of bands experiment with widely different sounds, Beatles is probably the easiest example.  "Yello (woops, YELLOW) Submarine" could have easily been said to be not standard 'Beatles' compared to "I wanna Hold Your Hand."  So what that Yello doesn't follow the norm and manages to grow by adding new voices?  isn't that what Yello is about - nonconformance.  I mean hey, they do have a belch sampled and played as music, for cryin out loud! 
p.s.  I add a disclaimer because I haven't heard the whole cd yet.  I reserve the right to modify my opinion after November 3.

I haven't seen your review, as I've only just returned to the list after 2 years away
I guess you don't like Jade Davies or arent keen on her voice, I think this album does offer
something for everyone though, I was personally disappointed in Motion Picture, a friend of mine isnt
a big fan of the more filmic yello songs, where I am.

Well I have managed to get my hands on Yello - The Eye CD
having listened to some of the snippets before hand, I can highly recommend buying this CD
as the short 30 second samples heard already give nothing away at all really of how the whole tracks sound
which surprised me, as there were lot's of surprises on this album .
 
The tracks are really multilayered and Jade Davies  voice really does sound like Billy Mackenzie in places
whether this is intentional or purely accidental is not bad thing, it gives Yello's songs that extra edge
