Hey Oliver I'll give ya One Second to get it copied!!!! :-) Noh... Cool. So very cool. You've made my day. I'll be patient. And I think it's best we contact each other again about this when you have the time to deal with it. I'd rather have it on tape, because then I can run it through my own setup and filter it and so on, before it is fed through a mpeg compressor. Thanks again for your time and effort!!! I'm jumping like a mad man doing the dance of joy.... Rene On maandag, dec 2, 2002, at 13:00 Europe/Amsterdam, Olli wrote:
I have some good and some bad news for you all!
The good news: I have found the video tape on which the documentary is. The bad news: until the end of the year I am really busy so I can't manage to copy the tape or make a mpeg file of it.
So please give me some time and at the beginning of the next year I will try my best.
Regards
Oliver

In my search for the Yello on Havana Tape, I even contacted Anton Corbijn. Well his site.
And guess what? Today I got a reply.
From Anton Carobijn Limited: ----- Dear Ruhney
It is possible that Anton Corbijn is in the film you are looking for. Sorry that you have lost your copy. Anton has never seen the film and don't have a copy either.
Best regards
Monica Axelsson Anton Corbijn Limited ----
From this I tend to believe that my fellow country man remembers that there was a filmcrew seperate from the Desire Video Crew. But it surprises me that he never saw it...I mean.. we are talking 'bout Yello here!!!! :-)
Anton Corbijn made several interesting pictures of Yello. There's one of Dieter Meier where only his head is visible, and his limbs and body are formed by painted trumpets. Very cool. And totaly in sync with the typical sax-thing from Boris.
Today I went to a local recordstore and asked about the cd from Lightmaker. The girl started searching in her database, but couldn't find it. Damn. I know her connection to what is available is very accurate, as she always traces my special taste for certain artists. Even old stuf.

Mayday.
I have a little story where mayday is involved.
A colleage of mine has spend a lot of his life in the house-scene. He even wears the 'love parade ring' on his bony fingers. And he... yes he... of all people I know, it was he who saw Boris in person. The God of Sound and Harmonic Arrangement walked passed him when he was leaning against a wall, chilling out, high on ice-smoke and marlboro cigarettes. The basterd. Why him, why not me? Oh Why?
And another thing I'd like to add about mayday after reading this on their site:
wie diesmal der Auftritt von SS Sputnik, dem Comeback Yellos, dem endgültigen Durchbruch Prodigys...
What? Comeback of Yello Were they ever gone? Who's Gone?
I believe that real artists like Yello and Depeche Mode, who seem to seldomly score a major hit, are never gone. The biggest problem is the candy cotton for the mind and ear that is cluttering up the charts. The radio stations, where dj's are told by contract what to play.
But okay... that's a whole different story.
And Chris... My guess is you can talk to them in English. With their connections... But it's all depending on who's recieving the mail. Sometimes you get lucky and get in touch with a cool dude or dudette, and they try to find what ya want, but when reach out and touch a lazy basterd with little interesst you're getting no where.
he he... I wrote my mail to Anton Corbijn in Dutch. Just to give it a little push forward in the direction of mr. Corbijn himself. There's probably not too much English people out there who can read Dutch...
Olli: I just got down on my knees, folded my hands and prayed to what ever god wanted to hear my words and plea. I sure hope you have what I'm looking for...
Graeme: If the tapes you have from the british tv also have Dieter Boris talkling in person, I'm very interested...
Have a nice weekend you lot!!!
Rene
