Jab!

I'm new to the list too, and haven' t posted before, just enjoying the postings
from other list members over the past month or so.  So I might as well
introduce myself too.

I've been listening to Yello's music since 1983 when I first heard Gotta Say Yes...
Since then I've bought every album I could find of theirs, but like you, in the past
couple of years I haven't heard much news of Yello. Then I found this list, too.

My best Yello anecdote is when I was living in Konstanz in Germany in 1991 for
6 months. I used to listen to Schweizer Radio DRS 3. I've never had it confirmed,
but I'm certain that many of their station Ident "stings" were by Yello. For sure,
they used a snippet from Oh Yeah, but there were others too. I often wondered
whether Dieter and Boris just improvised a bunch of "stings" for DRS which they
would play at random when it was time to identify the station. I had a great
collection of them on Cassette until my machine ate the tape. Man I was pissed.

Subject: [Yello] New to this list

Hello all!

I've been a Yello fan since their inception with the revolutionary "Solid Pleasure" and since then, have been following their career. I don't know why I never discovered this mailing list until now but the last few years I've lost touch with what they've done. I'm gonna read the archives and find out what I've missed!

I've just read a posting that someone has an FTP server, well, I don't know if this is allowed here but am I allowed to talk about sharing some rips? I've got quite a lot of their 12" (including a few rare one's) that I've just been ripping to MP3 (I was thinking of posting it to usenet). Anyway, if this is not allowed, my apologies and I won't mention it again but only to share information on Yello  with all of you.

Regards
