Yeah, That's it. I remember being subjected to info on this by a teacher when I was still young. There was a breed of people who called themselves Helvatians. Or something like that. I have to translate from Dutch. They came from the South East of Germany. And for some reason that name got stuck to Switserland when several area's combined into Switserland. I just found it interesting that Yello's hidden feature is the use of Swiss related forntfaces for their hardcopy visuals. First several variants of the Zurich (motion Picture is Zurich Heavy with a narrow spacing), and now with the eye, the've switched to Helvetica, - Sometimes live is cool... [ From: Julian <julzmon@mac.com> [ I didn't know Helvetica was created by a Swiss person.
I'm not sure it was created by a Swiss person, but the name itself is Swiss.
Swiss coins say Confederatio Helvetica, and the 'h' in the .ch domain for Switzerland refers to Helvetica. When I was in Switzerland, I asked what was written on the coins. I don't remember the full answer, but Switzerland is basically a loose confederation of independent states. I don't think I ever figured out what Helvetica means, though.
Ever since then, I cannot help but think of Switzerland when choosing a font!
