The first Yello track my ears listened some years ago was THE RACE. Have to say FLAG and BABY, but in real I say to my friends and other persons in France that some of Yello tracks was used in commercials, TV-shows & programms here with examples.
My best "souvenir" was the LEVI'S commercial in a cinema. I was young and I can remember a black woman dezipping a Blue Jean. From there, I like Yello... and black women of course ;)

This is not an easy one to answer. As you can see, everyone has a different combination of recommendations.
Well as I indicated a couple of weeks ago, from Boris' mouth directly comes the three recommendations for his favorite Yello albums:
- Solid Pleasure - The Essential Yello - Zebra
------------
The Essential Yello is a good pick as a sampler. But of all their albums, I personally like every track - except Blender. Because Essential takes samples from earlier albums, you hear them out of context. Not as they were in the original album. It depends upon who you are giving this to. If they have a short attention span then I'd say go with Essential. But if they have some stamina then I'd say pick a pair of albums from the other recommendations.
My two favorites are:
- You Gotta Say Yes to Another Excess (my initiation into Yello) - The Race

If you were asked to give 2 Yello albums to someone who appeared to have at least: a) Above average open mindedness about music b) No awareness of Yello (does not know that "Oh Yeah" was a Yello tune) c) May actually devote an hour or so listening to a single album - hoping in the back of their mind - to discover their next favorite album
Which 2 would you choose?
Thanks...gad

Although I think some of the vocal tracks (with Jade) are too ballady, I have to say that each time I listen to The Eye, I hear something different in the music. It's really interesting the complexity and layers. It's growing on me.

I'm new here. Which albums would I chose? I remember being in an audiophile stereo store and being entranced by One Second. I have never to this day grown bored with it. A tropical dream scape. The other album would be Motion Picture. It gives Thevery Corporation a run for it's money!! All of Yello's albums are a must for anyone who is an audiophile and not a mainstreamer. Can anyone answer some questions for me? Has there been a release of any Yello on SACD or DVD Audio formats? Any vinyl of the recent three albums? Any 1/2 speed, Japanese, or virgin vinyl of any of the older albums? On a tangent, I think that the inside gatefold of the record New Mix In One Go of the boy's in Cuba is so swank: No doubt Boris is smoking a Cohiba cigar. . . bastard. Your imput is appreciated. I'm tempted to not trust anything from that web site from looking at those 2 links. There have been others posted as well if I remember correct that were also a bit fishy.

I think my Eccentrix Remixes is - I couldn't find it for less than 37$, then I found one for $12 and got it. Well, when I finally received it, the credits are in Russion (I think) and I can't read it! But it sounds okay tho...
