As Daniel and others already said, I too hope
it's one of us that will win. If not for the mix itself,
then for our devotion in what every way!

I signed up instantly to make sure that I atleast
can lay my hands on original material from Boris.
I seriously doubt I can come up with something
that satisfies myself, within 48 hours. Therefor I hope
it will fit somewhere I already have lying around. This
would make a bit easier.

Creativity cannot be forced. And while under preasure,
Creativity suffers. Atleast in my case.

ne, ne, ne, ne... nervous... Hell Yeah!

When looking at the track that came with the How How
series, it will be even more hard to come up with something.
It's okay when there is a rhyhm loop, but these loops often
lack the fills that one needs before a segment change.
So you would have to construct a fill from the loop handed,
using up too much of valuable time. I can remember how I stripped
and sliced all the horns to use them in my Swing like Bathtub song.
And even adding something from Sinead O'conners jazzy album,
the Art of Noises Dragnet track, and my own handclapping and
finger snapping, and ratles on the desk here and sliding paper
for brush slides..., and oehoe-ing in the mic for voice layered
basslines... and pretending to be a Dieter like announcer in
a sleezy jazzbar while introducing myself as the man who
only sings in his bathtub...

Sampling is like using the dirty underwear of others, as Karl
Bartos once put it, but I'm not that bothered by it when it
suits the track. And what better way to give a track a Yello
feel, by using Boris' sounds... And how far appart am I from
sampling when I know how to program my synths so they
produce a yello like sound, or even like And One features
in their work?

Another great thing about the remix contest is that the mix
itself may not be longer than 3.30. This will easily exclude a lot
of trance producers, who smear their creative output along
tracks taking up 7 minutes or more. My own work is always very short,...
but that is due to the fact that my creativity is limited to
2.5 minutes in general in a track...  :-) So I just cram what
I can come up with in a short track to keep it more interesting
than by stretching it into something that is just a cd space filler.

I'm listening to Rubberbandman now.... In the first 10 seconds
I already hear more then 15 individual sounds... jeesz...

When the head prize is a meeting and greeting with Boris,
and the gods decide I should win, I'll bring my powerbook, handcuffs
and ducktape with me. At first I'll ask Boris if I can download his sample
bank, and if he gives me static...  grin and smurk...

My the gods smile on us, and give us The Force to commence
battle against the none-members.
