Takla Makan sounds now like a spiritual zen/yoga track. I think I have about 50 of those spritual cd's. (my wife gives yoga lessons)
And Takla Makan is not any differend now than those 50 cd's.(except the first minute)
So,..yes a bit of drums would helped the song a lot to make it more intersting,
and maybe some differend cords....(personal opinion of course.)

Sweet Thunder has a very rhythmic underlying track along with timpani for emphasis.  It doesn't have drums per-se but still has a distinct rhythm.  Personally, it's one of my top 5 Yello tracks.

"Sweet Thunder" is another Yello instrumental that did not have drums;
however I don't believe that it really needed them.  Do you feel that "Takla
Makan" needs a drum track, or were you just pointing out that it doesn't
have one?  Just curious.
