The DJ Tomcraft mix of "The Race" is somewhat grating if you're listening to it solely in context of being a Yello fan. I agree that it does sound like he overdubbed the Yello track with his own synths. However if you listen to it in the context of Tomcraft's other mixes or tracks (Into the Light, Loneliness, Bang Bang), it's actually pretty faithful to Yello and in many respects a very good remix. I wonder if this was released with Planet Dada in order to help promote Yello to more modern DJs who may only know them for their big club hits. A lot of people on this list don't care for the remixes, but I feel that having such a variety of remixers take on Yello shows respect for the band, and some of their takes are fun and very interesting. I wish though that Tomcraft had released a second mix without all the additional synths. I like his use of them on his other mixes but it's distracting from the actual remix he did of The Race. my humble opinion. -Mike

Hmmmm....
Once again we can witness how money is distributed to places where it shouldn't be going to.

First we have to suffer the concequences of the Yello Empire letting a mr. Tomcraft lay his hands on a Classic, and come up with something that could have easily be made with a sam-tracker on an Atari STE.
Then our hungry eyes and ears encounter the shear magic of the Prototype Web-Designer, who knows one good trick and milks it.
Which is not a compliment.

I say: Power to the Yello clan.
We, the core of this little virual community have the ideas, creativity and means, to construct the real candy for fans.
Let's just do it. I'll have one of my contacts hack the yello site and replace the lot.... (smile)
