Good Morning, Attached is the WSLC Bulletin from last week's opening meeting. You will find good information in the bulletin about the upcoming session from Senators Escamilla and Henderson and Chief of Staff Ric Cantrell. I'll see you today at noon in the Copper Room for our discussions on the minimum wage. Representative Justin Miller, Senator Todd Weiler,and representatives from the AFL-CIO will be joining us. Good Afternoon, Attached is the WSLC Bulletin from last week's General Session where we discussed the cash wage obligation for tipped employees. There was good information provided on both sides of the issue. I'll see you at our meeting tomorrow at noon in the Copper Room. The Health and Human Services Study Committee has put together an information packed session about investigational drugs for terminally ill patients, digital health services, and assistance for children with complex medical conditions. Representatives Froerer and Redd will join us, along with Senator Shiozawa and Jonathan Johnson - a citizen advocate from Overstock.com. Good Afternoon, Attached is the WSLC Bulletin from last week's General Session where we had another outstanding discussion regarding the Right to Try legislation (HB 94) related to investigational drug access for terminally ill patients. We also had Representative Redd join us to discuss his legislation around Medicaid assistance for children with complex medical conditions (HB199). Senator Shiozawa discussed his digital health services commission (SB19) and briefly discussed the Medicaid expansion bill he is sponsoring. The Energy/Natural Resources/Environment & Agriculture Legislative Study Committee has put together an information packed session about the transfer of federal public lands to the state. There have been two resolutions distributed related to tomorrow's topic. Please refer to the email sent Monday afternoon to find the resolution supporting the transfer. You will find the correct resolution opposing the transfer on an email sent Monday evening from Gay Lynn Bennion (this corrected resolution is slightly different from the one I sent in the earlier email). Good Morning, Attached you will find the WSLC Bulletin and minutes from last week's General Session. We had an outstanding presentation on the both sides of the transfer of public lands debate. Please join us tomorrow for out meeting at noon in the Copper Room. The Education Legislative Study Committee has invited a number of state legislators to discuss the selection of State School Board members - now that the current method has been found unconstitutional. Good Afternoon, Attached you will find the WSLC Bulletin from last week's General Session. We discussed the various options to elect/select members of the State School Board and Senator Lee joined us for a few minutes at the beginning of the meeting. Please venture up the hill tomorrow for our meeting at noon in the Copper Room. The Judiciary Legislative Study Committee has invited members of the legislature, a DEA agent, and representatives from the American Cancer Society and Salt Lake Behavioral Health to join us. Topics covered last week include the Contact Lens Consumer Protection Act and health care legislation surrounding a Medicaid expansion. By way of reminder, tomorrow's meeting will bring a discussion about air quality in Utah. We will also hold the elections for the officers for the next biennium.
