Good Afternoon Fellow WSLC Members, Our next Women's State Legislative Council General Session will be this Wednesday, March 5 at noon in the Spruce Room. We will discuss water rights (S.B. 211) and Public Water Access (H.B. 37). You will find both bills we will be discussing on the WSLC Participatory Citizen App ( www.wslcofutah.org ). You will find a copy of the bylaws and proposed amendments on our website: www.wslcofutah.org . We will continue the discussion on Article VIII Meetings on page 53. It is amazing we are nearing the end of the document. After Article VIII we have only Articles IX Elections, X Quorum, XI Parliamentary Authority, and XII Amending of Bylaws remaining. Our Parliamentarian, Kathy Boyer, has said she will continue to make herself available before the board meeting, 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. in the cafeteria, to help members with amendments or clarification. Please watch for a separate email containing the membership list for WSLC. Good Morning, Attached you will find the WSLC Bulletin from our February 12, 2014 meeting. We discussed Medicaid expansion options and an increase of the age limit to purchase tobacco related products. Please remember we are meeting in a different room tomorrow. We will be in the actual Capitol building in room 130 - the Multi-Purpose Room. This room is located just inside the North entrance of the Capitol. Good Morning Fellow WSLC Members and Happy Valentine's Day, Our next Women's State Legislative Council General Session will be this Wednesday, February 19 at noon in the Multi-Purpose Room 130. This room is located in the State Capitol building just inside the north entrance . We will have a discussion on campaign finance reform and the House Special Investigative Committee (John Swallow investigation). One bill we will be discussing is H.B. 297 Campaign Finance Amendments. You will find the bill on our new WSLC Participatory Citizen App ( www.wslcofutah.org ) or at the following address: http://le.utah.gov/~2014/bills/static/HB0297.html . We will also continue the amending of the WSLC Bylaws. You can find a copy of the bylaws and proposed amendments on our website: www.wslcofutah.org . We have passed Articles I, II, III, and IV. Good Afternoon, Our next Women's State Legislative Council General Session will be this Wednesday, January 29 in the Copper Room. We will be discussing the listing of the sage grouse as endangered and Utah's air quality. This will be the first meeting with the legislature in session, so please leave enough time to find a parking space or to take public transportation. More details on your parking or transportation options can be found on our website at www.wslcofutah.org. Occasionally it is necessary to provide a LCD projector for our speakers' presentations. The Capitol's facilities office no longer rents them. If you have an LCD projector we can borrow on occasion will you please respond to this email and I will pass your information on to the Board. Also, please remember we will be discussing and amending the WSLC Bylaws during Wednesday's meeting. You will find a copy of the bylaws in an email I sent on January 22 or you will find them on the front page of our website: www.wslcofutah.org. Sylvia Rickard, Chair of the Handbook and Bylaws Committee, will be available at 9:00 AM before next week's meeting in the cafeteria outside the Copper Room to answer any questions members may have regarding the proposed changes.
