~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ New Project Invites You to Participate in Creation of Astronomy Film
Hi,
I found your email through a listing of Amateur Astronomy organizations throughout the U.S. I thought that you and your group might be interested in a new interactive science documentary project - BLAST (http://blast.artistshare.com
(http://rs6.net/tn.jsp?t=7xoxhfcab.0.6ppzhfcab.4w4uccbab.9392&ts=S0287&p=http...))
- a film that follows a group of intrepid astrophysicist as they travel to exotic locations all in the name of science. Our web-based community project on ArtistShare.com lets students, professors and science enthusiasts learn more about telescopes, cosmology, and astronomy from an intimate and interactive perspective - all while actively participating in the creation of a great science documentary.
With extraordinary access to a new generation of young astrophysicists, BLAST puts a human face on groundbreaking scientific research. The story follows a close-knit team of international scientists as they attempt to launch a multi-million dollar telescope on a NASA high-altitude balloon, taking them on a dramatic journey from the Arctic to the Antarctic. Please feel free to watch the trailer for the film on our official site at: http://www.blastthemovie.com/trailer.html
As we enter the post-production phase of the film, we are excited to reach and interact with science fans through the ArtistShare website - a website dedicated to creating personal interaction between artists and their fans. Through AritstShare, participants may have access to:
· Videos/photos/documents related to the science of BLAST
· Behind the Scenes production videos
· Interactive Q&A sessions with director Paul Devlin and science writer Emily Kagan
· The chance to edit a scene from the film
We are the first film to work with ArtistShare, and we are excited to be on the forefront of this innovative technology. For more information, please check out our site at: http://blast.artistshare.com
I certainly hope that you will take the time to look into our project with ArtistShare. I think that your science minded group would be interested in the opportunity to participate in the creation of the BLAST science documentary. Thank you for your time and attention. If you have any questions or would like more information, please do not hesitate to contact me via email.
