Re: [UVAA] Regular Utah County Star Parties? and a possible school party
Hey John,I will send you a preliminary schedule of our upcoming events. We met last weekend, formed a board, and planned out some activities for the year as well as a regular schedule every year. An official email is forthcoming announcing the events and newly formed Club! Sent from my T-Mobile 4G LTE Device<div> </div><div> </div><!-- originalMessage --><div>-------- Original message --------</div><div>From: "John M. I think if we had 3 or 4 people willing to participate, we'd have enough people to deal with the inevitable vacation absences and such. Let me know if it might be of interest and if you have suggestions for where we could do it. Also, there's a tentative plan for a school star party at Lakeridge Junior High in Orem on the 13th. I'll let you know as plans develop (or fizzle). Lakeridge is on the SE corner of 900 S & 400 W. I haven't scouted out to figure out where the best place to be is, so if it's going to happen, I'll go check lighting and try to pick a good spot. Mark your calendars -- the Rangers at Timp Cave have asked me if we can help out with two star parties again this summer in A.F. canyon -- Friday July 1st, and Friday August 5th. Sorry if that conflicts with existing plans, but I have essentially committed myself to those dates, and would very much like to have others join me then. The event last year was a success. /R From: JOHN K LUNDWALL <knightjl7@msn.com> To: Utah Valley Astronomy Association <uvaa@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Tuesday, May 3, 2016 12:04 PM Subject: Re: [UVAA] Regular Utah County Star Parties? and a possible school party Hey John,I will send you a preliminary schedule of our upcoming events. I would be very, VERY interested in hosting a star party at my school in Highland, but not until this fall. Please let me know if that's a possibility. In the fall we'll have about 180 sixth graders who will be studying planets, constellations, and moon. We'd invite all of them with their parents.
