Debbie The most conspicuous large crater is Copernicus. It is in the central region of the moon and has prominent rays splashing out in all directions as well as createrlets around it. There is a mountain chain that comes down out of the North and ends with a medium sized creator named Eratosthenes just above it and to the right (binocular view). To be sure, go to this web site and navigate by clicking on North, South, East, or West until you see the one you are thinking of. Hover the cursor over the object and a text tip will identify the object for you. I am starting you off at Copurnicus. http://www.lunarrepublic.com/atlas/sections/d3.shtml Jim UTAHDEB@aol.com wrote:Jim, What's the name of that big crater near the terminator with all the little craterlets? I only know the names of a few craters.
