I was there on Friday night. The roads were dry and dusty, and I saw 3 other campers there with fairly large rigs. There is a little snow in the shady coves, etc., but the temperatures were not unpleasant, and when the dawn glare drowned-out the stars I simply got into my sleeping bag on a cot under the sky and took a morning nap. Was Wolf Creek accessible - for a Motor Home? I have been waiting to hear if the road is open as we are planning on going up there for the 4th of July weekend. I went out to Promontory (Locomotive Flats area) on Friday, very dark skies, seeing was excellent, checked out my new Lumicon O III filter on the North American and Veil Nebulas and used some colored filters on Jupiter. We attended the OAS StarParty out at Antelope Is. Weekend observing

While I don't have any firm plans for this weekend, in case any of you want to get out, I know that there will be folks observing at the Gravel Pit tonight, and I believe there will be some observing from Wolf Creek both tonight and Saturday. There is also a big star party happening at Bryce Canyon this weekend if anyone feels like a road trip. That's what I know about, if others have observing plans this weekend feel free to share. The Bryce Canyon Star Party is fast approaching and I hope that all will come that are able. Also upcoming is the new member weekend event know as SLAStrofest.
