Dottie The one you want is (nightskymag.com) it is by sky and telescope You can find both of them at Smiths, at least I did. They are by monthly JOE

I would also recommend Astronomy over Sky and Tel. I subscribed to Sky and Tel about a year ago when I was trying to decide between the two because many amateur astronomers recommended it as better than Astronomy, but even with a physics background I have a difficult time understanding a lot of their articles. I also got a couple issues of Astronomy and they are much easier to read. It would be worth it, as others have mentioned, to get an issue of Astronomy and Sky and Tel's new mag Night Sky to compare and decide which one matches your family's interests most. Your best bet for finding copies of the magazines is probably a store like Barnes and Noble, Borders, or perhaps Media Play. I had a hard time finding them anywhere else when I was looking. I'm thinking about subscribing to an astronomy magazine. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good one for a beginner. It would be used by the whole family, including our teenagers. I want to start to become more familiar with the basics of astronomy and using telescopes. Also, suggestions for books to read would be great too. When I read your posts, I sometimes don't understand what you're talking about! Thanks! Dottie

yes, that area of the moon really got bombarded during it's early history. That crater is huge. Debbie

Thanks Jim. I believe the crater I saw in the central southern region was Clavius. It had all those little craterlets in it. I've seen it before but not at 220X. Copernicus looked good too last night. Debbie
