Re: Looking for parts to complete some projects?
My hotlist right now is a Pioneer PR-8210 or PR-8210A. I've got a Star Rider on the way and a working PR-8210A is all I need!
hehe.. I could use a Thayer's Quest control panel, but seeing as these are ultra rare, I am not crossing my fingers... a few of us rigged up a parallel port hack to allow a PC keyboard to work in place of the original control panel, so at least I can play the game w/ my boardset ... I've seen pictures of the black Blaster one I sold Jeff a blue one (and the CP art) and he restored it to Bubbles When I worked at williams (89/90) I saw a picture of a red one -- I'm pretty sure it had inferno in it.. Not sure if it was just a proto or if they ran a run of 'em.

Serious?! A red Inferno would be quite a sight ... Where is all the Wms paperwork/files/etc.? Isn't there anyone that did some dumpster diving in Chicago? We need a Scott Thomas for Williams insider info...

Uh yeah.. Williams threw tons away. They had a requirement that disposed of stuff that wasn't sold to local operators was "crushed" in the crusher. They did major cleaning and tons of stuff was thrown away. Unfortunatly most people were more concerned about their job (or lack of one) and didn't care too much about preserving history. Kurt

Ok, I used to play a lot in El Monte Golfland in CA. This was the main testing center for a lot of mfgs. CA Robinson & Co. used to operate it (even though the other dist. weren't supposed to know they operated games.) Unless my memory is complete shot, I remember most of the rare games I played there while on test (couldn't see them anywhere else, so I'd go back from time to time.) Examples of the products I played there: the 4 cabinet, linked Predators from Williams (the four-player, sinistar type game with each player at a seperate cabinet...long before anyone else even thought of it); Williams Devastator in a sit down cabinet and an Inferno in a red duramold. I even played an Atari Nightmares there (I'd love to find the PCB for that game...pretty cool for it's day.) Lots of Japanese imports ended up testing there, some made it to market, some just disappeared. I have flyers for Devastator, but not Predators, Inferno or Nightmares :( Anyway, that's the info I have on the subject, I just hope my memory is still what I think it is :) jeff ----- Original Message ----- From: Bret Pehrson <bret@classicade.com> To: <utvgg@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Tuesday, June 25, 2002 12:27 AM Subject: RE: [UtVgG] Re: Looking for parts to complete some projects?

I have seen a Sinistar in a duramold in a couple of places (the BLACK one). Was it converted or straight from the factory? who knows... One was on E-Bay, the other in an arcade in So CA many years ago. So for one reason or another, there are a couple of them out there. ----- Original Message ----- From: Bret Pehrson <bret@classicade.com> To: <utvgg@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Monday, June 24, 2002 11:31 PM Subject: RE: [UtVgG] Re: Looking for parts to complete some projects?

Jeff are you certain of the existence of this? I personally think the red duramold is an RGVAC legend, ranking up there with the vector Tron. Maybe Bret would like to comment. :-)
I *thought* I saw a picture of a red Dura -- I can't find it now ... As for Inferno Dura -- either Peters knows something (cat is out of the bag now!), or it is wishful thinking -- what's the story Jeff?!

Don't know if anyone on this list is interested, but I'll be placing a classified ad this weekend to attempt to sell the following games: High Speed Pinball $1100 Space Invaders (Midway) $600 (great shape!) Tron $550 APB $350
In the "Outback" section, NPS/Market Square has about 5 copies of the Rampart cartridge for the Atari Lynx. $3.00 each. -- Blaine Gardner blaine@xmission.com DoD#46 UB#2 FJ1200 XR600R LT250R "Cannot run out of time. Time is infinite. You are finite. Zathras is finite. This... is wrong tool."
Cool. I've got a whole Amiga/Howard dev system for the atari lynx sitting in a box. Wonder if it works? Those howard boards were touchy when they were new.. Plugging it in would probably produce a lot of smoke. Kurt
