I'm prepin to work on my BZ. Kurt recommended I resoder all the connections between the boards. I'm good ad sodering big lugs on the solinoids on the Pinball machines, but I have yet to use my sodering skills on a board. So, do any of you have known bad boards, that are deader than a doornail that I can get cheap? ;) I just want something to practice against. D.I. and thrift stores will have piles of crap you can practice on. However, I'm clumsy ape and I've never had issues with raising traces or burning anything bad on these old arcade boards. Get plenty of wick and use nothing higher than a 30 watt iron and you should be fine.

Pete has a good point, and I would add that the Atari boards from the Battlezone era can be different animals--practicing on a different type PCB would probably not do you too much good, actually. Use a light touch. Soldering the connections should be pretty easy, but if you desolder parts on a BZ board, be careful, it's easy to lift traces on those boards. -Chris
