The Wii has a few fun online games, but it's kinda limited right now. Super Smash Bros. Brawl coming soon is going to be great. There are a lot more coming, the online stuff has just gotten a bit of a slow start. As for games that are fun that are out and online right now, I really like Super Mario Strikers (soccer game) and Medal of Honor Heroes 2 (WW2 shooter with fantastic controls).
As far as must-have games or games worth checking out, I'd try these:
-Super Mario Galaxy (best game of 2007, in my opinion)
-Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
-Super Paper Mario
-Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
-Zak and Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure
-Geometry Wars: Galaxies (Strong Robotron vibe here)
-Wario Ware: Smooth Moves
-Elebits
-Excite Truck (yeah, it's a spiritual successor to Excite Bike)
-Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
-Metal Slug Anthology
And of course, the Virtual Console stuff is really, really, good.
It does if you can load an emulator on it.
I got a Wii for my present this year, and the only game that I have that
supports online play is Guitar Hero. Does anyone have a recommendation
for good Wii games that supports online play? You would think Call of
Duty would, but nope.
And if anyone wants to battle my fearsome "Slowride on Easy" skillz,
I'll setup my online account. Haven't bothered yet, due to
aforementioned lack on online games.
