Take the 6th South Exit and turn left on Main. The college is 115 South Main on the east side of the street. If you turn left on West Temple or 2nd West you may be able to find street parking close to 1st or 2nd South - free after 6pm - and walk a bit. There is paid parking nearby at Crossroads, ZCMI Center, or Regent Street. ZCMI is free for 2 hours. There is also a Trax station 1/2 block from the College, if you do a park 'n ride. Village Inn for Advanced Training also has a Trax station across the street from the restaurant. -A
Thanks Ann. I take it there's no visitor parking at the college? --- Ann House <ann@annhouse.org> wrote:

Hi All, Chuck asked recently what was going on at tonight's meeting. I may be able to shed some light on that. Here's a note that our assignment editor received -- not myself directly, as far as I can tell. I have too much to do tonight to attend, but since people were asking about the meeting's agenda, here's what I know about it. Thanks, Joe The message that was passed on to me follows: You are invited to attend the January 24th meeting of the Salt Lake Astronomical Society for a "Media Night Out." The meeting is being held in the downtown Salt Lake Community College campus, 115 South Main Street. Enter at the main entrance which is on the East side of Main Street and take the elevator to the second floor. Turn to your left and you will see the large meeting room made available for the club's use. The meeting will start at 7:30 p.m. If you have a designated person(s) you would like to attend, please respond to this message with that person's name(s) so we can have a name badge made for them in addition to determining the amount of refreshments (pizza and drinks) to order. Seth Jarvis, director of the Clark Planetarium, and Lynn Higgs of the University of Utah Dept of Physics, will be presenting ideas regarding collaborative efforts with SLAS for public outreach including the public schools. This will expand the use of SLAS's resources to a fuller extent. In addition, Mike Murray, also from the Planetarium and Regional President of the Astronomical League will talk about the League's observing programs that should be of interest to the youngest stargazer to those of any age who glance occasionally up into the night sky. If you'd like additional information, please feel free to drop me a notice. Thanks you. Yours respectfully, Tom Sevick Vice President Salt Lake Astronomical Society
