Oh yes, there is a toilet. It's right behind an old cedar tree along a dry river bed. You don't mind sharing it with a coyote do you? Kidding. Anyway, I'm perfectly happy up at the traditional area. I think Joe Bauman likes it better there, too. Rob Taylor is pretty sure he's coming, too. Anybody else? Mike Bailey
Allen and I are headed down to the wedge now, for tonight and Friday. See you there. If we run into any serious road problems, (ie, we are turned back), we'll make sure to call someone and have them post to the list. No news means we made it safely in a Subaru Forester, pulling a small trailer
HI Jo, I am going to try to head out there tomorrow. But I injured my back last night, probably not badly enough to prevent my going. What happened was really stupid. I am careful about lifting my telescope. I had it on the ground and was preparing to heave it onto the tripod. I was in a good, safe lifting position. But just at that moment, just an instant before I would have gripped it, my wife was leaving to go the store. She asked me what I wanted and we chatted for a moment. I straightened my knees but continued bending over, my hands about where I had been starting to reach. Just standing in that awkward, bent-over position, NOT EVEN LIFTING THE SCOPE, somehow threw my back out! It wasn't awful and I did manage to lift it up and (much later) back down, but from time to time it gives me a bad twinge and sometimes I have to shuffle around a bit bent over. -- Best wishes, Joe
