I've been using a red LED headlamp (too bright - not adjustable) and adjustable red LED flashlight (I'm getting tired of carrying it around in my mouth) for looking at charts. So, I'm considering a finger LED or something I can clip on. Do any of you have suggestions of what to get? I'm hoping that if I get something ordered quickly that I can still get it in time for the Messier Marathon. Thanks and clear skies, Dale.
Have you tried putting some translucent scotch tape on the headlamp to dim it down a bit? Rich Allen Dale Hooper wrote:

I plan to black out some of the LEDs on my headlamp. I think some black fingernail polish should do it. Dale, One of my co-workers just gave me an idea that I am going to check on. He suggested the stick-on window tinting. That should reduce the light by about half. Since the light is already red it would just make it a deeper color I suspect. I will see if I can find some this weekend.
