I agree this is a wonderful illustration to help us picture the overall scheme of things. Of course, it would be better if it were expanded a bit onto the galactic scale and then would indicate something about how many galaxies there are. Also something about the length of time the universe has been going (as far as we can estimate, anyway.) But on the other hand it's pointless to say that we're only tiny specks of cosmic dust. In reality, every organism is an entire universe. We have all of our sensory inputs streaming in, and we are no tinier on that scale than is any other conscious creature. In that respect we are equal to the biggest and smartest creature of Arcturus 7. Thanks, Joe
