Re: [Utah-astronomy] L&O Thanks!
It was so good to see everybody. I didn't realize that was happening to Kelly, but I thought the service was haphazard. Another problem is they didn't have the dish Rich Tenney ordered (I think Tina ordered it too), so they had to order something else. The rolls were on the table in bowls and I thought they were as abundant as you would expect. Imagine my embarrassment when I took a second and soon afterward discovered there were one each. The pies weren't homemade as at the Left Fork. And this is a very strange complaint, sounds almost silly to say, but the portions were too huge to finish. (Cory would not have appreciated my bringing home a doggy bag filled with liver!) But the main thing is the companionship, which we missed greatly. The sad aspect of that was that one regular at l&o, Siegfried, had a wedding and couldn't be there, and we missed the Ogden contingent. ------------------------------ On Mon, May 4, 2015 5:19 AM MDT Chuck Hards wrote:
Thanks to all who attended the L&O luncheon on Saturday. It was good to see all of you again!
The new venue, CJ's, provided a better "round table" arrangement that facilitated a larger discussion, rather than with just the people seated closest to you. It was also a quieter environment.
I want to apologize for leaving much earler than I had planned, I was hoping for more socializng afterwards. Kelly had just come off of a very stressful work week and when she wasn't served, it was more than she could handle at the moment. I should have been paying closer attention to what the waitress was doing (or what she wasn't doing, more precisely). Because of that, CJ's is going to be a very hard sell for me in the future, on the home front. Accidents do happen however, so hopefully the incident will diminish with time.
We'll try it again sooner rather than later.
Thanks again!
