Woke up about 2AM the last 2 days, from the sack I have about a 20% view of the sky through an East facing window. Really nice shower, guestimate about 100 per hour for whole sky, most very bright. Likely will try again tonight. The clouds down in S UT seem to clear in the middle of the night. Steve

Yeah -- I saw a bunch, maybe 50 per hour Monday early AM. I somehow had my months mixed up and was expecting Leonids, so I was curious why the meteors seemed to be from all over. But Gemini was pretty high. So it was a nice effect -- really meteors from all over. I even saw one from the car on I80 driving by the 1300 E exit -- so that one must have been really bright.

I'm over by Lake Powell and the skies cleared out beautifully around 1am. It was a great show. I was out from 10pm to around 3:30am and saw many, even a few large ones that left nice meteor contrails in the sky. Got to sort through a few hundred photos to see if I got any in my FOV with the 18-55mm lens. Cheers David On 12/14/10 7:47 AM, Stephen Peterson wrote:
