There's the problem, Rich. Sci-Fi TV today is soap-opera serials. The entire season tells one long story and you have to see every episode, every week, to get the full story. ST TOS was written by many different writers working within the model, so each episode could stand alone. Like Debbie, I caught a few episodes of B5 but was not impressed at all and quickly dismissed it as the same old thing, about on-par with that boring ST space-station series. If I need to see the entire run, every week, then they've lost me and I'll never like it. Who has time (or the inclination) to watch that much TV as an adult? Rich wrote;
FWIW, my hard-core Sci-Fi friends (including Mark Dakins) claim that the best SF show ever made for TV was Babylon 5. I never saw it consistently or often enough to have an opinion, but they say if you watch it from the beginning you will be impressed...
