Waning Crescent Moon & Venus
Did anyone catch the beautiful waning crescent moon juxtaposed to Venus this morning. It was awe inspiring. I was in the middle of a shift working at a drill rig in the Book Cliffs when I looked up and saw them. I had to stop what I was doing and take a picture. It would have been worth getting up for. Thank You, Rodger C. Fry Consulting Geologist
Rodger, I was outside around 5:30 and it was a beautiful sight! I also enjoyed seeing Orion. The air seemed really clear and the sky was just perfect. Too bad my camera and scope were sitting in the garage. Oh well, at least I got to see it with my own two eyes. I did see them and they were beautiful. Around noon I looked for found Venus very easily since I knew where it was relative to the moon.

Wayne, I did the same thing and had no problem finding Venus. As it turned out, I became the laughing stock at the drill site because none of the workers at the drill site could see Venus except me. They said I was dreaming.
