More Cocoon Nebula experimentation
More experimenting with the equipment tonight. Trying to see for myself the effects of binning. FYI: All pictures have been processed with PhotoShop to make them more net friendly (the original 1x1 shot is over 6 megs but the version below is only 260 kb). Should anyone want to see the originals, let me know and I'll email them. I'll leave the pictures on the server for a few days. Dawn is breaking. Guess I'd best turn in before I'm hit by a stray sunbeam and explode. :) Enjoy, patrick ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Subject: Cocoon Nebula, IC-5146 Scope: C-14 @ f/11 Camera: ST-10XME Chip temp: -10° Chip size: 1,472 x 2,184 pixels Pixel size: 6.8 x 6.8 micrometers All exposures taken in 2 minute increments (each dark subtracted and flat fielded) and then stacked to reach the total exposures shown. Very nice Patrick. Thanks for posting (and risking solar exposure!). Venus looked like a 747's landing light this morning, despite the clouds. --- Patrick Wiggins <paw@wirelessbeehive.com> wrote:

Really nice, Patrick. The subtle detail of darker material on the nebulosity on the few I've had tie to see so far is wonderful. Best wishes, Joe Richard Tenney <retenney@yahoo.com> wrote: Very nice Patrick. Thanks for posting (and risking solar exposure!).
