Well, I don't remember a microphone on that mission, however I've been exchanging emails with JPL about getting the guy that was in charge of the Pathfinder/Sojourner mission to come speak at a SLAS meeting. If that works out you could ask him. BTW, (further evidence that one should always reread what they've entered _before_ hitting Send) I got my missions mixed up in my original post on the subject. I referred to Mars 98 crashing into South America. That was Mars 96. Mars 98 (aka Mars Polar Lander) crashed on Mars. Patrick
