NOAA Smoke and Fire Detection Satellite Analysis
Aloha Rob, It is a lamentable situation, but part of the terrian. If things do not burn regularly, floor litter accumulates and then it all goes up at once. Sadly, I know one morning I am going to wake up and look out the window to see my beloved Wasatch Tri-Canyons and their wildnerness areas in flames. The Tri-Canyons haven't had a major burn in 40 years. Off-trail, I've waded through spots where the dead pines needles are 3 inches deep. - Kurt _______________________________________________ Sent via CSolutions - http://www.csolutions.net
Hi Kurt It's DRY here too. This is the driest summer that I can remember and we've had 3 fires on the west side so far. We already have a 10% mandatory cut back of water for Upcountry area already, usually it occurs in dry years in September. This is also the warmest summer that I can remember but I suspect that by mid-October we'll feel our 1st cool morning and Orion will be in the morning sky. Aloha Rob
