Re: [Utah-astronomy] Re: Meteorites on the Salt Flats
Chris, You really would have to do an enviromental impact statement if you dropped federal bureaucrats. What a mess that would make. Otherwise, not a bad idea. Maybe include a newspaper reporter and a few radio announcers <g>. BLM??, don't "We, The People" own the BLM? Isn't it our property? This is what happens when you give somebody a little power. I believe if Patrick or who ever is going to take the lead on this would talk to the Air Force a way could be paved to do it on their controlled ground and with their sponsorship. Each Wing or unit as well as the Base have a Public Affairs Officer, this would good place to start. If the "war" is not in the way the Air Force likes friendly publicity. Down here in the south central area we are constantly faced with this bureaucratic approach to things, they skew the science or are just plain dishonest with it. We love the environment and work hard to protect it but don't believe out of state voices have the right to kick us off the land we love. Sorry I know I'm off the subject but it keeps us wound up all the time.
