Hey Rob, how are things after the Hawaii quake?
Hi Rob, Care to let us all know how things are with you and Haleakala after the quake?
Hi Patrick Thanks for the call, we all fine here on Maui. The quake now at 6.7 was a good shake that occurred in increasingly stronger steps that caused us to be w/o power for 4 hrs. Phones worked though cell phones were off for 15 minutes. Oahu took the biggest hit w/ a massive power outage but the Big Island had the most damage w/ a bridge having minor damage, roads blocked by slides and boulders. In Kona close to the epicenter , an old stone walled church lost 2 of its walls, some high rise buildings had planters fall and a few signs were knocked over. There were a few stress cracks found and a few building/foundation separations also noticed. We were lucky but this is part of the deal living in a volcanic region. No damage reported at the Haleakala Observatories yet, I guess I'll know more tomorrow. aloha and Mahalo from Maui Rob
