Joe, You do far more than most reporters to advertise and promote astronomy. I figure the correction notice just gets us a little more publicity. 90% of the people who read it will never remember the club misname, but everyone who read it knows that something neat is happening at the U. Thanks for a great article, we really appreciate it! Now, if you had said astrology....:) Jo Grahn At 07:43 AM 7/30/2002 -0600, you wrote:
I sent this out earlier but the heading was that of the note I was using to get the list server address. That didn't convey the meaning of my note. So I'm sending it again with the proper heading. jb
Dear friends, I am sorry for a mistake in yesterday's Deseret News and I've sent in a correction. My brain must have slipped a gear. At one place in my story about ALCon I said the "Astronomical Society of Utah" voted to sponsor it. Also, I noted a change in my correction -- that the observatory isn't holding public sessions, but people may register at the conference today if they wish to go to the star party at SPOC tonight. I apologize to most of the members of SLAS -- the one exception being myself! I can't apologize to me! Best wishes, and thanks to Siegfried for bringing my error to my attention. -- Joe Bauman
