I was out at Lakeside Saturday night, nearly got stuck in the 12" deep layer of loose, fine dirt on the way in. Another vehicle was stuck for a time on this road. Apparently, some very heavy machinery came through and ground the surface to deep powder, or a deep layer of fine ground soil was dumped on top.
Good grief. Thanks for the warning, Erwin. Did you use a four-wheel-drive vehicle? Thanks, Joe ________________________________ From: Erwin Van Hook <ecvanhook@hotmail.com> To: utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com Sent: Monday, August 13, 2012 10:28 AM Subject: [Utah-astronomy] Lakeside - dirt road has changed I was out at Lakeside Saturday night, nearly got stuck in the 12" deep layer of loose, fine dirt on the way in. Hi Erwin, Considering where that road leads one can only wonder what kind of heavy vehicles are being driven out there. But with the road in that sort of shape maybe next time you go out there you should drive one of your namesake's vehicles: A Panzer. :) patrick
