Thursday: The current weather system will take most of the night to clear out. Tonight does not look very good for observing. Friday: There is a hi-pressure approaching from the Northwest. By Friday night the winds will have died down and the only place in the state left cloudy will be the Southeast corner of Utah. Saturday: Right on the heels of the hi-pressure system is another system that will cause a trough to pass over Utah on Saturday during the day bringing cloudiness with it. . It will be clearing by evening except in Northeastern Utah. --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Photos: High-quality 4x6 digital prints for 25¢
Thanks! I plan to head to the vicinity of Mesquite, Nev., on Friday. Anybody know of a good observing site there, not close to the bright lights of the casinos? Thanks, Joe
The DARKEST site in Nevada, bar none (perhaps the darkest site in the contiguous 48 states) is located about 50 miles north of Battle Mountain. However, it's a lot like Mars there, with incredible heat in the summer. Not a nice place to do anything except astronomy and dig for artifacts. --- Joe Bauman <bau@desnews.com> wrote:

WE? Is there a mouse in your pocket? I've done my time in hell, thanks! Battle Mountain, while dark, wasn't named the "Armpit of the Nation" for nothing, you know! __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
