Re: [Utah-astronomy] Atlas or CGEM?
Rob, I use a Tundra case for my eyepieces (similar to pelican) but I'll be damned if I can find one big enough for the mount for less than $250-$300. You must have bought yours some time ago, or the GP-DX is much smaller. The medical case is aluminum, plenty good for the mount. I'll buy foam sheets from the army-navy store on Redwood Road. Couple more bucks. On 5/8/10, Rob Ratkowski Photography <ratkwski@hawaii.rr.com> wrote:

For that price of a used medical chest check and see if you can find a Pelican case way better and more convenient I have my GP-DX in a Peli case, cost $80 NEW and it doesn't weigh 26lbs
Aloha Rob

Hi Chuck I bought my case thru Boss Safety Products in OC,CA it was about $80 but my wife brought it to Hawaii I'm not sure how big the CGEM is so you may have a point but I have seen some big Peli cases for fairly low prices on eBay and Craigs list. I'm now looking for a case for the LS152 the supplied case is minimal at best, yesterday while test imaging the sun, the case was in sunlight the fabric cover bubbled. The supplied foam didn't fit properly, it arrived locked w/ the keys inside, hasps don't align and one of the Ha filters has to be removed so the scope fits in the case no caps or plugs supplied either (those arrived yesterday from OPT). Lunt is selling Ha scopes, not cases.. Aloha from Sunny Maui Rob
