Each year the Salt Lake Magazine honors the city's best. Did any of you notice that our own Patrick Wiggins was named as one of the ultimate camping crew - one of the best for his skills, talents and sense of humor to have along on a camping trip? Congratulation Patrick! Have you been asked on any camping excursions lately? -A
Grin... I think it was more for my astronomy skills than camping. To steal a line from Siegfried, my idea of roughing it is no room service in the hotel. patrick On 11 Aug 2011, at 21:11, Ann House wrote:

That's true. I should have said for his ultimate skills as an astronomer he would be fun to have along. Will people not get it? I owe you a phone call. What's up?? -A On Thu, Aug 11, 2011 at 9:20 PM, Patrick Wiggins <paw@wirelessbeehive.com>wrote:

He won't camp. He won't even stay at a hotel at Bryce! He drives to Bryce monthly, does his presentation and imediately drives home again. Ironic that he is the one to have on a camping trip. The article in the magazine did give good information on the Salt Lake Astronomical Society and our SPOC - for those who don't have Patrick on their camping trips - which is everyone! -A On Fri, Aug 12, 2011 at 10:11 AM, <erikhansen@thebluezone.net> wrote:

The only explanation I can come up with this is that it's equivalent to asking who you'd most like to be stranded on a desert island with. The choice is someone who is interesting, articulate and knowledgeable. But in this case, not somebody who's a good camper! -- Joe ________________________________ From: Ann House <ann@annhouse.org> To: Utah Astronomy <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Friday, August 12, 2011 10:40 AM Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Best of the Beehive He won't camp. I think her idea of a desert island is a resort without a Hilton, come to think of it, her and Patrick could make a good pair. Still I think i'd rather camp with her than Patrick, I can enjoy Astronomy without assistance. Don't forget the camcorder though.
